Tomato prices decline in Kovai

As a sigh of relief to the public, the tomato prices show a sign of decline in Coimbatore markets with higher supplies. The red berries that costed ₹85/kg on thursday came down to ₹68/kg on friday. The tomato arrivals from other states – mainly Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh – have increased. As this is the case with wholesale prices, the retail prices are still ruling over ₹100/kg. The silver lining might take few days to get reflected in the retail sale.
