Restrictions ahead of festive season

The Centre has instructed the states to impose curbs if the weekly cases increases by 10%. Anticipating the huge gatherings for festive occasion in India, the States and Union Territories have been imposing restrictions, mainly to prevent the spread of Omicron.

According to the latest official data, India has 223 confirmed cases of Omicron variant, with Delhi being the largest contributor to the caseload of 57. Delhi has already banned the socio-cultural gathering for Christmas and New Year.
