Police conducted a search operation in Karadikal area near Thirumangalam in Madurai district on the basis of confidential information received by the private police that cannabis was being stockpiled and sold illegally. Following this, a gang of 4 people in a four-wheeler smuggled 340 kg of cannabis. Private police confiscated cannabis with the car and arrested 4 people. In connection with the abduction, the personal police arrested 4 persons namely Deivam from Koodalnagar area, Jayakumar from Usilampatti area, Ramesh and Rajendran from Madurai and are keeping them at the Austinpatti police station.
