While the world is becoming more modern and advanced, the meaning of family and what stands for remains the same.Life has changed so much for most of us in the modern world. With the advancement of technology, changing cultural norms, new priorities, it’s natural to wonder what the importance of the family is.
Family is just as relevant as it ever was if not more. No matter how much life changes in the future, it will probably continue to be needed in one form or another. Family is important as it provides love, support and a framework of values to each of its members. Family members teach each other, serve one another and share life’s joys and sorrows.
From their first moments of life, children depend on parents and family to protect them and provide for their needs. Parents and family form a child’s first relationships. Family provides all members with security, identity and values. Spending time with family shows individuals the value of love, appreciation and open communication. Family provides stress relief by boosting self-esteem and lessening anxiety. This strong bond can act as a sort of protective shield and offers a sense of belonging in troubling times.
Global Family Day is celebrated every January 1 by the citizens of the world. It is an international day of peace and sharing which aims at uniting and spreading peace by considering and promoting the idea that the earth is a one Global Family. It is a day where individuals and families share food with friends, make personal pledges of non-violence, and celebrate by ringing a bell or beating a drum on the first day of each year to spread a message of peace in hopes of making society and the world united as a family.
New Year’s is the perfect opportunity to wish for peace on earth to make a resolution to try to do our best to work to create a better world during the coming year. It’s also the perfect occasion to hold an event that will spread hope to create a more peaceful, just and sustainable world. People also donate to various humanitarian relief organizations. Various organizations distribute literature in the form of leaflets, brochures, posters etc to unite, inform, motivate, and connect people, institutions, and governments of the world and through the celebration of this day.
Indeed, the invasion of Corona into our lives have truly brought the family together and emphasized the importance of family among the youngsters.
