SREC along with Young Indians Tirupur, CII and Tirupur corporation launch App on COVID 19


The students of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College (SREC). Coimbatore have successfully developed an Android Mobile App named Tirupur Health Heroes for effective COVID 19 management, taking requirements from Tirupur Corporation through Young Indians Chapter – Tirupur.

The objective of this app is to ensure that the people in the quarantine do not violate the norms of quarantine. The app also provides users with emergency help line numbers, quarantine related entities like —  request for groceries , medical aid  etc .  The unique feature of the App is a request handling section that prioritises the requests made by the user.

The app was launched by honourable minster of animal husbandry Udumalai K.Radhakrishnan in the function held at District Collector’s Office, Thirupur in the presence of Thirupur District Collector  K..Vijayakarthikeyan, President of Tirupur  Yi Indians Kathiresan. This app was demonstrated to the Corporation of Tirupur healthcare officials, police officials and the suggestions provided by them have been incorporated to make it more effective.

The App has been developed by the N.Gokul and S. Aswath, Final Year  Computer Science Engineering students of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College incollege innovation centre in a record time of  3 weeks, mentored by G.Rathi, Assistant professor of Computer Science Engineering .

The efforts were congratulated by D.LakshmiNarayanaswamy, Managing Trustee, S.N.R Sons Charitable Trust and Joint Managing Trustee R.Sundar , Principal of Sri Ramakrishna Engineering College Dr.N.R.Alamelu , Innovation Centre Heads M.Ganesh and Ramkumar , Head of the CSE Department Dr.A.Grace Selvarani .
